The CARIBBEAN WOMEN IN FORESTRY (CAWFOR) is a non-profit organisation registered in Trinidad and Tobago. It has a charitable status in Trinidad and Tobago. The following are the four main spheres of activities that CAWFOR will be undertaking:

Our Vision
Our vision is a Caribbean Region where gender sensitization has led to gender equality in the sustainable management of forest resources.
Our Mission
To ensure that the technical and professional knowledge, skills and roles of women are incorporated into the sustainable management of the Caribbean Region’s forest resources.
Caribbean Region (English, Spanish, Dutch and French Speaking islands and English speaking countries of Central and South America).

In addition to Board Members, CAWFOR works with partners, associates, members and employs professionals, technical and administrative staff to support the different project areas of CAWFOR.
Sphere of activities
- Representing CAWFOR (members) at National, Regional and International Forestry and Environmental fora;
- Sustainable Forest Management outreach and technical training programmes;
- Participating in the gender sensitization of national, regional and international forest, environmental and biodiversity policies and legislation;
- To increase the proficiency of forest organizations in the Caribbean Region in building women’s leadership and enshrining gender into management, research and development; and
- Implementing policies on gender sensitization, gender equality.

- To be the umbrella body that builds linkages, supports and mentors female forest managers in the Caribbean Region;
- To provide a forum for female and male forest managers in vocalizing and identifying gender issues within the field of forestry;
- To build awareness and sensitize female and male forest managers in the Caribbean Region on gender equality;
- To build the awareness of female forest managers on their rights, roles and responsibilities in the sustainable management of forest resources the Caribbean Region;
- To improve communication, share experiences, develop relationships and build the capacity of forest managers in the Caribbean Region; and
- To promote and encourage the recruitment and retention of women into professional and technical positions within forest organizations throughout the Caribbean Region.
